INTRODUCTION TO PRINTMAKING WORKSHOP

 Saturday Sept. 17, 9am-4pm. $150.
(Includes all materials)

 

Learn the basics of relief printmaking in this intensive workshop at Wilder Hill Press amid the beautiful landscape of Wilder Hill Gardens. Design and carve a plate, before printing your own  limited series of images with non-toxic Akua inks.  We will cover ghost printing, reduction printmaking, and selective inking as ways to introduce color into your images. No experience required.

 

ADVANCED TECHNIQUES IN PRINTMAKING WORKSHOP

 Saturday, Sept. 23, 9am-4pm

$150. (Includes all materials)

 
In this workshop we will introduce a second monotype plate in addition to the  “key” block, achieving a gorgeous painterly effect in your prints, using non-toxic Akua inks. We will explore concepts of registration, color theory, hand printing vs. press, paper choice and proper framing of original prints.

The Cyanotype/Bookmaking Class has been re-designed to fit into one day and moved to October 15, 10am-4pm. Using the historic process of Cyanotype photography we will produce brilliant, Prussian blue images from photographic negatives and botanicals.

 

At the end of the workshop we will form some of our image into simple and useful book forms for preservation and presentation. Pre-registration required.

Drop in anytime to learn the traditional art of hand weaving  fresh greenery into holiday decorations for indoors or outside. Exceptionally fresh, mixed greens from Wilder Hill Gardens turn into beautiful wreaths, swags and garlands. All materials provided.
