Your landscape will be healthier and more attractive once you discover the basics of pruning in this practical, hands-on workshop. You will learn how to prune ornamental and evergreen shrubs, fruit trees and the “small fruits” including blueberries, currents, gooseberries, and raspberries for disease resistance and increased fruit production. Bring along hand-clippers and saws if you have them. Handouts will guide you when you practice in your own yard.

ANNUAL MOTHER'S DAY WEEKEND SALE

Come and see the new Wilder Hill Gardens Garden Shop complete with solar panels on the south roof! Walk the meditation path behind the stone stupas and tour the demonstration gardens. Free tour on Saturday at 10 am with Lilian Jackman. Bring along your dog for a Mother’s Day romp with Viola our very own farm dog.
LANDSCAPE DESIGN INTENSIVE
Sat. June 18, 9 am to 4 pm
Learn the basics of landscape design in this two-day workshop with Lilian Jackman and Vivian Felten. The class will illuminate important landscape design skills including site assessment, design, and drafting techniques (no artistic skill required!), plant material and propagation, hardscape, and proper installation methods. Bring photos, project ideas, and any maps along to first class and we will help you transform your dreams for a beautiful landscape into a useful plan.
Cost: $ 150
Preregistration required. A materials list will be sent. Bring a bag lunch, tea and coffee provided.
MAKING A RAIN GARDEN
with Vivian Felten

Creating a rain garden is an ecologically sound, low-cost and beautiful way to deal with your drainage problems on your land, including water run-off from buildings or persistent wet areas. In this workshop Vivian Felten of Vivid Landscapes will teach site analysis, construction methods and plant material. Hands-on experience building a rain garden on site.

GROWING AND ARRANGING FLOWERS FOR SPECIAL EVENTS

9 am -12 pm
Lilian Jackman is happy to share secrets and skills gained from over 20 years of creating vibrant flower arrangements using flowers grown at WHG. Topics covered will include exactly how to choose and grow the best flower varieties, weaving garlands and crowns, making swags and centerpieces, and using branches and fruits. All materials will be provided and each student will bring home their creations.
Cost $50 includes all materials, preregistration required
ART DAY, MAKING PRINTS WITH PLANTS.
Sat. Sept. 28
9 am -12 pm
A fun introduction to the art of Print-making. Wander the gardens of Wilder Hill to collect leaves, seeds, and flowers. Then we will use non-toxic Akua inks and a small press to transform your treasures into original prints. All materials provided.
Cost $50. Bring a kid or a friend: $80 for two.
