Apprenticeship at Wilder Hill Gardens
2008 Apprenticeship Program

Each gardening season Wilder Hill Gardens offers two apprenticeship programs. The first meets weekly from May through September and is designed for serious gardeners or herbalists, or those considering entering the nursery or landscaping business. Following the seasons, we practice the hands-on skills of plant propagation, soil building, floral growing and arranging and greenhouse management. Focusing on sustainable theory and practice, Lilian will reveal the secrets of vibrant, small-scale, profitable agriculture.

Lunch is a potluck. Visits to local organic farms, CSAs and nurseries are sheduled monthly. Cost is $800/year.

The second apprenticeship program is a shorter intensive program that meets six weeks between July and October. It offers a basic introduction to botany, landscape design, plant propagation, marketing and more. Cost is $320/session.
